If you want to know more about our forecast data then read on. Weather2 has been around since 2002 but until 2008 our forecasts had only been available via our client's Web sites or mobile applications. Accurate forecasting is central to the Weather2 ethos and our global search for the most reliable data led to our business partnership with Aerospace and Marine International (AMI).

All Weather2 forecasting services have AMI data at their core. AMI have been in operation since 1994 and employ some of the most experienced meteorologists in the world. AMI has its headquarters in Silicon Valley in California with its UK office situated near Europe's oil industry capital Aberdeen in Scotland. This is where leading edge software engineering and research in weather information systems is carried out for the oil industry, shipping and the renewable energy sector.

The same technology and advancements benefit all Weather2 services which are driven by continuous high speed access to a wide variety of both observational and forecast model data. Various atmospheric and oceanographic models are run to provide unique and timely output tailored to our customer's requirements and are reviewed by experienced meteorologists to deliver clients and Website users with the best information available to make decisions.

Weather2 services are also derived from data gathered from:

  • World Meteorological Organization GTS land, ship and data buoy observations
  • Global weather satellite imagery from both polar orbiting and geostationary satellites
  • NCEP Global Forecast System (GFS) atmospheric mode output (to 16 days)
  • ECMWF atmospheric model output
  • Japan Meteorological Agency atmospheric model for northern Asia

Weather2 are headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland and have offices in London, England and Zagreb, Croatia with AMI agencies in Australia, China, Korea and the United Arab Emirates. Europe and near Asia is covered from the UK office and the American continents are covered directly from the USA.
